'Won't accept HC order…': Mamata Banerjee vs Amit Shah over HC scrapping OBC certificates in Bengal

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday asserted that she “will not accept” the Calcutta High Court order scrapping the OBC status of several classes in the state. Addressing a poll rally at Khardah under the Dumdum Lok Sabha constituency, Banerjee said the OBC reservation will continue in the state, as the Bill concerned was passed within the framework of the Constitution. On Calcutta HC cancelling all OBC certificates issued in West Bengal after 2010, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, "I welcome the decision of the High Court. Mamata ji said that we do not accept the decision of the High Court. I want to ask the people of Bengal, can there be such a Chief Minister, who will say that we do not obey the court's order? I strongly condemn this and welcome the decision of the High Court and we will definitely ensure that the decision of the High Court is implemented..."
