Gary Evans, Chairman and CEO of United States Antimony, and Paul Andre Huet, Chairman & CEO of America's Gold & Silver Corporation, join Bloomberg Businessweek to discuss the companies’ plans to work jointly on a state-of-the-art Hydromet processing facility to produce high-grade critical minerals at an increased rate. As well as how US startups and venture investors are eager to reap the benefits of the Trump administration’s planned $12 billion initiative to stockpile critical minerals, which provides another national security-driven lifeline to green tech. The top executive of America’s only significant antimony processor says the White House should introduce a $20-per-pound price floor to secure a domestic supply of the critical mineral used in military applications.
“Something in the $20-per-pound range would be a great price floor that protects us,” United States Antimony Corp.’s Chief Executive Officer Gary Evans said in an interview on Bloomberg Radio on Tuesday. 
The comments come a week after the US and its allies said they’re considering price floors as a way to shore up a domestic supply of key metals outside of China. Price floors have long been discussed in the critical-minerals industry as a way to shield non-Chinese companies from the Asian nation flooding markets and depressing Western firms’ profits.

US Antimony owns a processing plant in Montana where it produces antimony oxide and some precious metals. On Tuesday it announced plans to partner with Americas Gold and Silver Corp. to build another facility in Idaho that can process antimony, copper and silver. Evans said the new facility could be built in the next year with the help of government funding. 
“We’re in the construction engineering phase now — we should start within 90 days and we should be done in a year,” he said.
