Olivia Benson || The Greatest

Sooooooo, about Olivia Benson.
I guess it's safe to say that she's an iconic and record breaking character.
Now, what I've realized after binge watching all 21 seasons of SVU is that she's a moderfucking badass. I mean, I already knew but DUDE if you stop and think about it for a minute there, it just hits you how much crap she went through since she moment she was CONCEIVED(!!!!) and how strong she is to having made it out alive and somehow mentally sane (I don't know how that's possibile).
She had to deal with the fact that she's the product of a rape her whole life and you can see how much it affects her in the earlier seasons. She's literally afraid of herself and who she is and who she might turn out to be and then she grows and she learns to see what everybody else sees: a strong and good hearted human being, that knows what's good and what's not and that chooses everyday to do good.
Other than that there's the fact that her mother was a drunk, and then there's Harris and then Elliot leaving (Never gonna forgive one single soul for that) and then Lewis and then Lewis again.
But she survived and got Noah, which I think was pretty much what changed her the most and what really made her realize that she wasn't her father nor her mother. She was better than both of them. A whole lot better than them and I think Noah just made her see that simply and clearly.
But then of course things can't be good for too long in fact she almost lost him TWICE in the course of what? 9 episodes? Probably. Whatever SVU, we get it. But then again, she's till there and she's thriving and she's the absolute queen.

Everything possible happened to her and she dealt with it and still did her job when it hurt and when it felt like she couldn't because what she truly couldn't do was walk away BECAUSE SHE'S JUST THAT AWESOMEomigodilovehersomuch.
I mean, I think it's pretty heroic that she chose this job in the first place, given her situation, but the fact that she never gave up even when all that other crap happened to her just blows my mind and it makes me angry BECAUSE SHE'S NOT REAL BUT WE NEED AN OLIVIA BENSON IN THIS WORLD. DAMN IT.

OF COURSE, Olivia Benson is amazing and all but let's not forget who made as iconic as she is.
Give Mariska Hargitay all the awards, honestly.
She gave this show and this character not only literally her whole career but also everything she had and it shows. Plus I think it's inspiring and admirable that this show became her mission in real life.
She fights the bad guys, in different ways, on and off screen. She's completely invested and at this point I wonder just how much of Olivia is actually Mariska and the fact that I can't tell just makes me glad SHE is real because we might not have Olivia Benson but we do have Mariska Hargitay and if you know all the god she does that's good, if you don't then look it up.
Because she's just as incredible as Olivia. Truly.

I just wanted to make a little tribute because season 21 was the record season and if it made it so far it's also thanks to her(them actually, but it's okay).
