We are honored to welcome our special guest on Breaking The Cycle this Friday Night, May 9th 2025: Ann McClung Ashmead, Clinical Social Worker - Retired.
Ann's Bio:
Ann Ashmead (Clinical Social Worker-retired) has worked as a counselor for Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) since 2013 working multiple programs including Survivor Retreats, Kids Camp, and National Police Week, and Survivors of Blue Suicide. She began her career with the Arlington Texas Police Department as the Youth & Family Specialist before going into Private Practice where she worked with survivors of sexual assault as well as with families, first responders and life issues that affect our mental health. Ann also taught in the School of Social Work at the University of Texas in Arlington (UTA). While working with Survivors of Blue Suicide Ann wrote children’s books addressing a school shooting, and the suicide of a parent or grandparent.
Although she continues to attend National Police Week with COPS, Ann is now retired and is enjoying traveling with her husband Mark and connecting with their numerous grandchildren in all their different stages of activity & life. As a believer in service to others she stays busy volunteering at Central Storehouse (a local food pantry), connecting with numerous international college students through ISI (International Students, Inc.) and connecting with her church family at Central Bible Church.
