Janesville native Kolden Severson attended UW-Whitewater to become a teacher. Through the university’s Community Based Learning (CBL) program, he found a way to bring his passion for teaching — and his ability to speak Spanish — to a local school, Washington Elementary. He continues his work at Washington, after he was hired before he graduated in December 2023 with a degree in elementary education and a minor in Spanish.
