Berryville, Arkansas, was founded in 1850 by Blackburn Henderson Berry. The town was originally named Bakersville, after Arthur A. Baker, another early settler. However, the two men decided to flip a coin to decide the town's name, and Berry won. Berryville was incorporated in 1876 and became the Carroll County seat in 1875.
