This has been a long time coming. Several years ago, Joel and I started discussing taking our repats to learn how to sail.

The first year, we booked with a company that was just starting out. They were in Indonesia, and we would learn to sail and live aboard for ten days. However, they canceled two days after we booked and paid for our whole trip! We were heartbroken. If you watch the videos, this is when we went to Bali for a month and spontaneously flew to Thailand for two weeks. We were supposed to be on the boat for two weeks in Thailand.

Fast-forward to last year. We were not giving up! Through friends and networking, we heard of another company in Langkawi, where we would live aboard and learn to sail. We would even get our captain's license. Again, the same thing happened. We paid for the trip, and they canceled two months before we left.

We were stuck, having already paid for the plane tickets, hotels, etc. Even though we loved Thailand, I don't think we would have gone back, and certainly not at that time of year because of the extreme heat. However, we decided to get on a boat and see what we think.

So we chartered a catamaran for a week and set sail on our new adventure! Please follow along as we explore by sea!
