In continuation of our project "Ukraine and South Asia: Open Dialogues 2.0" supported by the International Renaissance Foundation, we cordially invite you to the Third thematic lecture "Foreign Policy of Ukraine" facilitated by the Embassy of Ukraine in India, was held on 18 July 2025 at 14.30 h (IST), which is 12.00 (Ukraine time).
Ukraine’s foreign policy is of topical interest to many researchers, policy makers and observers. While its modern trajectory may be traced after the renewal of independence of the Ukrainian state in 1991, a deeper look into the archives and records of the past reveals the history of foreign interaction predating the Ukrainian statehood and in fact, being a precursor to it. Choice of allies and partners in various stages of history was a decisive factor for the evolution of Ukrainian statehood. In discussing these and other issues, several myths and long held presumptions by Russian as well Soviet historiographies will be dispelled.
The lecture will be delivered by an expert in International Relations and Political Scientist and translator Mr. Silvester Nosenko. During 2020–2022, he was a translator at negotiations with the participation of the President of Ukraine. From 2022 onwards till 2024, he worked as an analyst at the consulting company "CIVITTA Ukraine". Since 2023 he has been a senior lecturer at the Department of International Relations of the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy". Since May 2025, he has been an advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration/Minister of Justice of Ukraine.
The discussion will be introduced and moderated by Dr. Mridula Ghosh, EEDI Board Chair and Associate Professor of International Relations of the National University of Kyiv Mohyla Academy.
