'Segdoune' is the ancient name for my small town of Kilwinning on the west coast of Ayrshire . I have always owned [and loved] the original sheet music for this tune "Ellan Vannin" [the ancient name for The Isle of Man]. The song was written over 100 years ago. I heard Canadian, Real, perform the song as per the original version and I asked him if he would kindly record the song again with my own words for Kilwinning. He did. I hope Kilwinning folks enjoy my tale of an ex-pat in Canada, Australia or other new home - enjoying the sights of Old Kilwinning once more from afar. My French title is a nod to the performer.
