An international group of pilgrims, who have been carrying out the first ever re-enactment of the journey of the Magi have arrived in the Negev Desert.
The re-creators of the Magi, or three wise men who visited baby Jesus, are on the final stages of their journey.
The fifteen men and women, representing seven nationalities and the continents of America, Asia, Africa and
Europe, have been walking from Iraq for the past three months.
The 1,600 kilometers trip by foot and camel, followed the first century trade routes from the Euphrates River in Iraq to Bethlehem.
The pilgrims have lived amongst, and interacted with, the people of the lands they visited with the aim of bringing international awareness to the daily lives of the people of the Middle East and promoting a positive message of peace.
Their journey to date has taken them through Iraq, Syria, and Jordan, they are due to arrive in Manger Square in Bethlehem on Christmas Eve.

"Well I think that it's a great place, you know, that people in the past have had just to have time alone with God, I think it's definitely necessary to be alone sometimes and just to get away from society itself."
