If you like dying, then the black dragon is your dragon. Well, that is if you like to die in nasty ways.
Black dragons are the most cruel and sadistic of the evil chromatic dragons. They like to make their enemies beg for mercy.
Black dragons make their lairs in crumbling ruins and swampy areas. Their lairs are nasty places that are at least partially flooded and full of lizardfolk and kobolds.
Once you get through the thick, swampy, foggy area around the lair, you find yourself in their lair.
Inside, the dragon can conjure pools of water that reach out to pull their victims, a cloud of swarming insects, or conjure magical darkness.
Fighting the dragon itself means getting past its 22AC thick hide.
The dragon can use its Frightful presence to take you out of the fight for ten rounds or attack you with its bite attack, and two claw attacks. It can choose to swipe you with its tail or perform a wing attack.
The worst thing about the black dragon has to be its acid attack. This is where it spews a ten foot wide line of acid 90ft. Anyone caught in it has to beat a 22 DEX save or suffer 15d8 acid damage. Your DM might consider damage to your armor as well. It is acid after all.
