In this video podcast, With Editor-In-Chief Lankesh Trikha On Channel Address It, Rajkumar Devraj, better known as Raja Pahadiya in the organized crime scene, shares his intriguing journey into the criminal world. Hailing from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, Raja reveals that his father worked as a clerk at Punjab Agricultural University. His descent into crime began in 2002 after a minor altercation led to his arrest and imprisonment. Raja recounts a harrowing incident involving the assault of a friend's sister by a rival group, which escalated to gunfire from an illegal weapon. During the chaos, a bullet struck a member of the opposing group and subsequently hit Raja in the leg, forcing him to flee. He later moved back to Himachal Pradesh. Raja also discusses his involvement as a co-accused in a double murder case in Jalandhar alongside Daljit Bhana and others, which resulted in him being declared a proclaimed offender, leading him to go underground in Delhi.

Raja Pahadiya went underground in Delhi, living off money from his connections, while Sukha Kahlon was murdered by Vicky Gounder. As a member of Sukha Kahlon's group, Raja decided to make a statement. He took a photo of himself holding two pistols and made it go viral, signaling to the Vicky Gounder gang that revenge for Sukha Kahlon’s murder was coming. Raja recounts his arrest by the Delhi Police, which led to him being sent to Tihar Jail. During this time, his friend Preet Phagwara, also in hiding but unwell, called Raja for help. Unfortunately, the Delhi Special Cell was on their trail, resulting in both Raja and Preet's arrest and subsequent transfer to Tihar Jail. Raja shares how, once inside, he was taken under the wing of Raju Pehlwan for protection.

Raja Pahadiya describes his first day in Tihar Jail, where one of the inmates ordered him to clean the washroom. Refusing the demand, Raja asserted his connection to Raj Pehlwan, stating he wouldn’t perform such tasks. He cautions the youth to steer clear of a life of crime, emphasizing that it is not a viable way to live.
