Pianiste, chef d'orchestre et compositeur, Alexandre Tsfasman est un pionnier du jazz en Union Soviétique durant les années 1920 et 1930. Il a effectué de nombreux enregistrements comme soliste de son orchestre ou en solo.
Il interprète ici sa propre "Fantaie sur des thèmes de Matvey Blanter", l'auteur de la célèbre chanson Katioucha.

Pianist, bandleader and composer, Alexander Tsfasman was a pioneer of jazz in USSR during the 1920s and 1930s. He made several interesting recordings either as soloist or solo pianist.
This is a Concert fantasy he wrote on themes by Matvey Blanter, who penned the well known russian song Katyusha.
