Bandit's Roost Campground Review, an Army Corps of Engineers Park -
Campground #2 of W. Kerr Scott Reservoir in Wilkesboro, North Carolina

The campsites here are a little different. That's not a bad thing. We marveled at the layout of this campground which maximizes the hilly space here providing level and sometimes terraced sites. The sites are large with many having two levels. Several campsites provide sweeping water views. There's plenty of woods and shade for campsites, however some do sit out in the sun but they are on the water so I'd say, worth it! This campground offers 102 sites on the shores of the W. Kerr Scott Reservoir surrounded by the foothills of western North Carolina.

What we love about Bandit's Roost Campground:
1. Large sites! The sites offer plenty of room to spread out. Many sites are deep.
2. Scenic - with the wooded and water views
3. Dog walking opportunities on the park roads and trails
4. Verizon worked ok for us here.
5. Plenty of activities to do in the park and nearby: kayaking, hiking, biking, boating, swimming, fishing...
6. Close to the town of Wilkesboro and any supplies you might need

What we didn't love about Bandit's Roost Campground:
1. Some sites lack privacy due to the layout, although there are sites that provide a nice amount of privacy.

Bandit's Roost Campground is the second campground we've visited while camping on W. Kerr Scott Reservoir. Our first campground was Warrior Creek. Our third and final campground in this area is Fort Hamby.
