Kia ora whanau. So my friends and whanau who came for a trip to Tauranga decided to bring some equipment to capture some really good footage of what they done during their visit to new Zealand. I was fortunate enough to edit this footage. Sit back and enjoy the view!

Matakana Island. An Island situated behind Mauao ( Mount Maunganui) has seemingly endless stretch of white sandy beaches to the tranquil land and historic Maori culture is a place where I can say I am proudly from. The Island can provide some of the best surf in town with good conditions. Te Moutere o Matakana.

Be aware you’re not allowed to walk or drive through the pine forest at any point which commercial plantation where logging regularly takes place. Matakana also homes New Zealand’s endangered dotterel bird on the surf side of the beach. These small shore birds build their nests in the sand and Matakana Island is the site of a successful Department of Conservation breeding programme

On the other hand Mauao (Mount Maunganui) is a mountain sitting at the edge of the peninsula located in Maunganui. This 232m mountain will leave you with breath taking views as you tower over the city and ocean. It is well worth the effort!
