The Avondale Mine Site - Worst Disaster In Anthracite History

Located in Luzerne county in a well known town called Plymouth, Pa sits a place that many people, including myself didnt know about. It's called the Avondale Mine Site and its the location of the worst disaster in Anthracite mining history. If you park along route 11 and take a walk down the trail, it will bring you to the location where you can first hand what took place there. Aside from having some informational stands, you can also see some of the remains of the mining operation. So come along with me as we check out the Avondale Mine Site. Enjoy
