Atlanta Master Chorale Executive Director, Jim Verrecchia, talks with Jamie about “Chichester Psalms”, one of her father’s most beloved works and a featured piece on our upcoming concert March 15 and 16.

Jamie discusses Bernstein’s exploration of the world’s duality through the piece, and his struggle between believing the world is finding its way to a more peaceful place vs. humankind’s terrible inclination towards conflict with one another. This struggle can be clearly heard through the music. Jamie expresses that Bernstein believed that sharing music was a way to rise above political discord and bring everyone to a higher level, where they could be in harmony.
