A few wartime recordings by Jack Whites band along with a couple from just before the war featuring a range of vocalists including Tony Morris, Ann Trevor, Norma Clarke and Jack White himself, accompanied by images of wartime London.
His band was was resident at the Astoria ballroom London from 1936 - 1957.

Originally signing a recording contract with Parlophone records in 1937 under the name of “Jack White & His Collegians” in 1940 the band switched to Regal Zonophone and shortened the same to simply “Jack White & His Band”.

White’s band which gained popularity in the late 1930s and quickly became the number one dance band resident at the Astoria.

The band recorded many morale boosting and uplifting songs in the early days of the Second World War before Jack himself Joined the Forces in 1941.

After the war Jack reformed his band at the Astoria and continued to broadcast on the BBC regularly well into the mid 1960s.
