Zuma may have been acquitted of rape and corruption but the charges provided fodder for critics. "We saw his bank statement -- bouncing cheques, unpaid accounts. How can he handle the country's economy if he can't handle his personal finances?" asks journalist Redi Direko. But Zuma's popularity remains unaffected. "The people know me.
