In this full-length tutorial, I’ll walk you through how I made a life-sized 3D Dachshund dog cake using a custom internal structure (yes, it involves a PVC sewer pipe!) and finished it all with luscious ganache.

TOOLS & MATERIALS NEEDED:
• 6” x 24” PVC sewer pipe
• (4) 1/4” x 3” machine screws
• (16) 1/4” bolts
• (4) washers
• 1/4” x 1’ threaded metal rod
• 1” x 18” wooden board (base)
• 1/4” cut board for the head platform
• 1/4” drill bit + drill
• Cutting tool for pipe (I used an oscillating multi-tool)

CAKE SIZES I USED:
• 6” round cakes – for the body
• 5” round cakes – for the head
• 4” round cake – for the head
• Egg-shaped cake – for the snout
