How to Make Shepherd's Pie | Comfort Food Recipe. Discover an easy, hearty Shepherd's Pie recipe perfect for family dinners or Ramadan iftar. In this video, we present a satisfying Shepherd's Pie that you can effortlessly make at home. Made with minced meat, potato puree, and fresh ingredients, this creative comfort food is ideal for family meals and Ramadan iftar menus. Follow our simple, step-by-step guide to prepare a delicious homemade dish using either a pressure cooker or the traditional method. Enjoy your meal!

For the potato puree;
1 kg potatoes, cut in half
3 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons salt
200 ml whipping cream, %35 fat, ⅘ cup,
1 teaspoon black pepper
¼ nutmeg, grated

For the meat sauce;
500 g minced meat, double ground, 1,1 lbs
2 carrots, diced
200 g peas, 1+ ⅓ cups, frozen, fresh or canned
2 large onions, diced
1 handful corns, canned,frozen or fresh
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon flour
¼ cup beef stock, any stock or water
2 tablespoons mulberry molasses, any sweet mollases works great
2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
4 cloves of garlic, crushed

*Boil the potatoes, starting with cold water, with a good pinch of salt. cook until fork tender. If using a pressure cooker, 8 minutes would be enough.

*While potatoes are cooking, start browning the minced meat in a pan. When the meat's color changes, add the onions and a pinch of salt.

*Add the carrots, peas and corn when the onions get transparent.

*Pour molasses, vinegar and garlic or you can add worcestershire sauce.

*Season with red pepper flakes, black pepper, salt, thyme and bay leaves then give it a mix.

*Make a hole in the center. Melt the butter, brown the flour until it has a nutty flavor. Then add the stock, stir, turn the heat and lid off and leave it to rest for a while.

*When the potatoes are ready, transfer them in a bowl, peel-optional- and start to mash them by adding a pinch of salt. Pour the cream, add the butter, black pepper and grate nutmeg. If your puree is still chunky, you can sieve but do not use a blender that will end up with a gooey puree.

*When the puree is ready, flatten the meat sauce and spread the puree on top.

*Shape it with a fork and bake in the oven for 15 minutes at 200 C (390 F) on upper and lower heat without fan.

*To make the top crispy,, keep baking at 240 C (465 F) with the grill for 10 minutes.
