Transcript below:
A lot of people don't understand media terms.
So i'm here to answer a frequently asked question, what is a vox pop? The term vox pop as like
many terms comes from the Latin phrase vox populi, meaning voice of the people. It's
a method that records on film the responses of people when asked a question on a particular
topic. The responses are viewed as a reflection of popular opinion. By using vox pops you
are bringing your customers opinions to life as they express their own views. It certainly
tells you a lot more than reading their opinion on paper, don't you think? To give you an
example of a vox pop, in true Blue Peter fashion, here's one I did earlier, asking the Leicester
public, where they like to go out in Leicester. The restaurants are really good. Zizi's for
example. Nice. I do like a bit of a Zizi's yeah. I do like a bit of a Zizi's, I like
that. I like coming town here because I see lots of people, any kind of people. I enjoy
it. Beautiful, look at that. Some interesting responses there from Leicester's public. So
there you go, We hope you now have a wider understanding of what a vox pop is.
