I’m a small business owner trying to create cute, ethical, size-inclusive clothes over here. Not fight for my life in the fabric aisle.

This perfect storm is a big part of why I made the decision to switch Hey Mavens! over to Pretty Pink Pouches.

The supply chain for indie brands like mine?
It’s a mess.
American mills are closing.
Imports are getting slapped with insane tariffs.
Even trying to buy from local mom and pops is getting silly because THEY source from overseas.

Like it or not, fabric comes from China. Whether is from Joann or your local craft boutique, that’s the truth. I have made significant efforts over the years to patronize American and family-owned businesses like @fabricwholesaledirect and @wawaksewing but let’s be real, it’s about to get soooo much harder.

Instead of raising prices sky-high or compromising my values, I decided to get scrappy.
To get creative.
To maybe become a bit more of a hoarder.
To make shopping Hey Mavens! feel more exciting, more flexible, and more FUN.

But don’t worry—I still have a few tricks up my sleeve.
