Installing 11 Speed Cassette on 10 Speed hub: Modifying freehub to fit 11 Speed Shimano Cassette

Описание к видео Installing 11 Speed Cassette on 10 Speed hub: Modifying freehub to fit 11 Speed Shimano Cassette

Saving my old 10 speed wheels by modifying the freehub to fit an 11 Speed Cassette. With just simple tools, I was able to shave down the splines on the cassette to fit an 11 Speed Shimano Cassette.
11 Speed freehub wasn't available for my hub when I last checked.

Tools Needed:
Digital Calipers
Metal File
(and tools to remove your freehub / cassette)

Total Project Time: 2 Hours

Cost: $0 (I had all the tools)

11 Speed Cassettes are 1.8mm longer than 10 Speed Cassettes.
You need to shave at least 1.6mm off the inside splines to get the Cassette to fit.

Do this at your own risk. I'm not responsible for any damages or injuries that may occur if you do this. I'm merely showing you what I did to fit my 11 Speed Shimano Cassette onto my old 10 Speed wheels.

This Does NOT work for all hubs.
Your freehub must have enough room on the inside edge to shave off 1.8mm
Your Wheel must have enough clearance between the Spokes and the freehub.
