How to Reset the Garmin GPSMap 62 Series Handheld.

GPS City will show you how to RESET your Garmin 62 series GPS back to factory default settings. Back up all wanted GPS data using Basecamp as a precaution before starting.

Hold the Page and Enter buttons down then power the unit on. Continue to hold Page and Enter until you see a prompt asking, "Do you really want to erase all user data?", you can release your fingers and select yes.

Problems that may be solved by resetting the GPS;
-My GPSMap 62s will not track satellites!
-Forgot what settings were changed and need to restart.
-My compass will not work or calibrate.
-My barometric altimeter will not work or calibrate.
-GPS wont connect to my heart rate monitor.

Also it is best to perform a firmware update using Garmin WebUpdater. This too sometimes fixes problems you see with your GPS.
