The Biden administration’s pushback on Israel has “certainly undermined” their ceasefire negotiations with Hamas, according to former US army vice chief of staff General Jack Keane.

Mr Keane pointed out Hamas’ conditions have been getting “tougher”.

“I believe quite related to the Biden administration’s pushback on Israel publicly,” he told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

“That has certainly undermined Israel quite significantly in these negotiations and strengthened Hamas’ position.

“I’m hopeful that something will come of these recent proposals so more of these hostages can be released.”
