3000 Watt Buttkicker Upgrade

The 230 watt amp I was using with the 4 Buttkicker Mini LFE units were overheating when playing at reference volume and very extended times. Theory 1 is the amp is clipping. Theory 2 is they are just getting heat soaked in the seats. If it's the amp, more power is the answer. They are rated from 50 to 250 watts, I'm at the low end now. Time to feed them several times that! I got a Behringer NX3000 rated for 3000 watts in bridged mode at 4ohms, which is how I'm running the units. Let's see how it goes! I also show you how to fan mod the NX3000 amp for silent performance, and what adapters and other mods you need if you want to run a pro audio amp like this for your subwoofers or transducers like buttkicker or other brands.

NOTE as a commenter pointed out, the speakon connector comes apart and you can run your bare wire directly in to the connector end if you want to. Mine screwed right off.
