Today I’m taking the gel print collage I created in my previous video and transforming it into a finished mixed media painting on canvas. There’s something so satisfying about seeing the process come full circle—from the layered chaos of the gel plate to a beautifully composed piece of art.
I begin by mounting the collage onto canvas, letting the textures and colours guide the next steps. To bring focus and storytelling into the piece, I add a gel print image transfer as the focal point—soft, slightly imperfect, and full of character. A few thoughtful touch-ups and small adjustments bring everything together, and just like that, the paintings are finished.
This process is all about trusting the layers, allowing your materials to lead, and knowing when to stop. Each canvas holds its own quiet magic, built from moments of experimentation, colour, and intuition.
