Quick Tip: Using the Hornady Concentricity Gauge to Load Better Ammo

Описание к видео Quick Tip: Using the Hornady Concentricity Gauge to Load Better Ammo

Brownells Gun Tech Steve Ostrem is here to tell us about the Hornady Concentricity Gauge, another tool in your arsenal for loading more consistent, and thus more accurate, handloaded ammunition. "Concentricity" refers to how well the bullet is centered in the case mouth. In real life, perfect concentricity pretty much never happens, no matter how carefully you load your ammo. Each bullet is off-center by a tiny amount. The "off-centeredness" of the bullet is called "run out" - deviation from being perfectly centered in the case - and precision shooters DO NOT like it! An off-center bullet engages the rifling slightly cockeyed, and as you shoot successive rounds, your groups open up. The Hornady Concentricity Gauge helps you check for AND physically straighten out off-center bullets. As Steve demonstrates, it's elegantly simple and easy to use. The result is perfectly concentric ammo. However, adjusting bullet concentricity isn't a magic solution; Steve explains its limitations and shares a few tips.
