The virtual partner meeting of the California Improvement Network (CIN) on September 14, 2023, focused on one of CIN’s priority areas – evolving roles and care models; specifically, insights into what workers need in today’s environment and how organizations can adapt recruitment and retention strategies to ensure they have and keep the workforce they need.

During a panel discussion, three CIN partners shared their organization’s innovative approaches to workforce pathways including how to prioritize lived experience among staff. The panel, moderated by Dr. Sunita Mutha, director of Healthforce Center at UCSF, was:

• Nancy Wongvipat Kalev, senior director of systems of care, Health Net
• Chris Meyers, chief clinical officer, United Indian Health Services, Inc.
• Al Rowlett, chief executive officer, Turning Point Community Programs
