Takahashi TS 80 Classic Telescope

Описание к видео Takahashi TS 80 Classic Telescope

The early 1970’s was an exciting time in the Japanese Telescope Industry. Takahashi was the new kid on the block and was struggling to establish itself in the market. The TS-80 was a make-or-break telescope for Takahashi. If it had not been successful in establishing the reputation of Takahashi the business might have collapsed in the mid 1970’s. The TS-80 semi-apochromat was more robust than other maker’s scopes and the apochromat version was the first commercially made APO in Japan. That scooped the major telescope makers. Goto Kogaku caught up within a few years and was also making a fine triplet APO by 1978. But Takahashi was the first. With the success of the TS-80, Takahashi was well on the way to becoming one of the top Telescope companies in the world.
