A free knackered Dyson v7 cordless! Can we make it work again?

I got given a Dyson V7 cordless for free, in typical used Dyson condition! Can we turn this pile of literal bin fodder into the expensive cordless vacuum cleaner it should be? Let's throw some money and time at it and see.
