When choosing a flat bench, there are several factors to consider. Well, for a few reasons. It's because the padding is firm, yet comfortable. The vinyl used is thick, durable, and grippy so you aren't sliding around. Finally, the 11-gauge steel used is able to support 1,000 pounds and this bench has been 3rd party ASTM certified.

Can you get a bench for a few bucks less? Sure. But you'll be getting cheap padding material with cotton that easily compresses, thin wood board support, lower quality steel, and slippery vinyl.
