This game sure has a lot of champions. And they sure make you work to let you play against the champions, too! Nevertheless... here are all the champion battles I know of in Pokémon Black 2.
Recorded off my Nintendo DS using a webcam strapped to a piece of wood, obtaining surprisingly good quality considering the setup. Audio was recorded directly from the headphones jack.
Basically, the premise is this. There is an area in the game known as "PWT" or Pokémon World Tournament. After completing the Elite Four, you can then partake in battles with gym leaders from all of the 5 different Pokémon regions. If you can clear that challenge 10 times, then you can play against champions from all the different regions. 7 champions from different regions partake in the PWT, and then there's the main champion of the game, Iris, to take the total to 8. Couple that with the fact that two of the champions from PWT are also battleable in the main game (Alder and Cynthia), that's 10 different champion battles. Wow.
So, who are the champions? Well...
Kanto's Blue/Green/Gary (00:00)
Johto's Lance (04:54)
Kanto's Red (09:06)
Hoenn's Steven (14:48)
Hoenn's Walace (18:32)
Sinnoh's Cynthia (23:30 and 29:38)
Unova's Alder (36:47 and 41:11)
Unova's Iris (45:28)
Which is plenty to keep anyone going.
I tried to keep the "Focus Sash Abusers' Anthem" to a minimum (that's the low HP song, for those who didn't get the reference). Naturally it does pop up every now and again, but when recording I reset if it went on too long, so for the most part you can hear the rather nice champion remixes that play when you're battling these fine people. For all PWT battles, I also played in triples mode. This is because of a couple of things; for one, my team was more designed with triple battle in mind, and for another, triple battles let you see all of the opponent's team (like with WFC battles, it's 3vs3 in single, 4vs4 in double and rotation, and 6vs6 in triple). Also, it's kinda cool to see Red throw Venusaur, Blastoise and Charizard into the arena all in one go, heheh :P
You basically need to use a competitive team (at the very least EV trained) in the PWT champions battles or you'll just get swept. No Level 1 abuse either, they thought of that, everything levels straight to 50 :P The team I'm using primarily was one I made for the original Japanese Black and White to play online with, just to try out the triple battles and stuff. That's why most of the Pokémon names are in BLOCK CAPS, because it was before everyone knew that the new convention in gen 5 was going to be Title Case (which does make more sense really). By no means am I a competitive battler, my Zapdos has Hidden Power grass, for cryin' out loud, and Ancientpower for that... additional rock-type coverage? :P I'm dumb.
Also, in case you're wondering why Jolteon just Thunderbolts everything regardless of whether it's strong against it or not, it has a Choice Scarf and switching out in triples is a death wish.
In the 3 battles that are not at the PWT, I used my in-game team. In order to keep these fights more interesting, I didn't use any items from my bag, and tried to keep my Pokémon levels similar to that of my opponent (yeah... the Alder fight actually took me by surprise, I thought he'd have higher levels).
And that's about it. I might English subtitle the battles using annotations at some point, but really... that's a lot of work when animations do most of the talking anyways. Maybe if the video becomes popular and so there's a good reason to do it.
Anyways, thanks for reading, and enjoy the video!
