How to convert recurring decimals to fractions - GCSE maths 7+

Описание к видео How to convert recurring decimals to fractions - GCSE maths 7+

Visit http://www.3minutemaths.co.uk for quick reminder High School GCSE mathematics videos.

This video is all about how to convert recurring decimals to fractions and forms part of the playlist by the same name . I've also added to the playlist on GCSE higher revision.

The question is aimed at around level 7 GCSE mathematics:

Prove that 0.018 recurring is the fraction 1/55.

The question is fairly straightforward in terms of technique - although it's slightly more difficult to cancel down, or reduce, the fraction at the end.

I think this is the type of question that would be on a non calculator paper, as they are not only testing technique, but also arithmetic skills.

I hope the video helps and please do leave a comment - thanks!
