John Wetteland vs Frank Viola in the second game of the two games series. Frank Viola pitches a complete game shut out and his seventh win of the 1990 season. Allowing only four (3 of the 4 hits from OF Mike Sharperson) while striking out seven and only one BB. In the Mets 4th and RBI double from Gregg Jeffries followed by Kevin Elster single to left knocking in two runs (both unearned) off Wetteland who is replaced by Mike Hartley to end the fourth inning as the Mets take the 6-0 lead as Viola continues a strong pitching performance taking complete control of the Dodgers for his 7th win.
