Vishwamitra recounted its history, including how Vishnu, in his Vamana avatar, used it as a place of penance before seeking three paces of land from King Bali to restore the worlds to the gods. At the ashram, Rama and Lakshmana helped ensure the success of a crucial yajna by defeating the demons Maricha and Subahu.
During the Lanka war, Ved Sushen told Hanuman that Siddhashram, hidden in the Himalayas, held the Sanjeevani herb that could revive the dying.
BUDDHISM ~
In Buddhism, sages in Gyanganj are believed to achieve immortality through advanced yoga and health preservation, a concept supported by scientific and Ayurvedic principles.
MAHABHARAT ~
In the Mahabharata, during her search for her husband King Nala, Damayanti encounters a beautiful ashram in the forest where virtuous sages reside. They reassure her that she will soon reunite with Nala and regain her kingdom. After giving this assurance, the sages and the ashram become invisible, leaving Damayanti astonished and wondering where the serene forest and fruitful trees have disappeared.
KALKI PURAN ~
Siddhashram, or Sambhala, is prophesied in the Kalki Purana as the birthplace of Lord Kalki, who will end the Kali Yuga. After Lord kalki and Padmavati's wedding,Vishwakarma will renovate the village with unique, luxurious homes and beautiful landscapes, making it akin to the divine city of Amaravati.
~ The exact LOCATION of Siddhashram remains unknown and is said to be hidden from human sight. Some believe it is in Tibet, the Himalayas, or parts of China. Author San Khandelwal notes that according to Gopinath Kaviraj, Siddhashram is not fixed to one location but can be anywhere. Legends include sightings near Gaurikund, Varanasi,in sacred mountains in Bihar and the Arunachal Pradesh.
It is popularly believed to be in a remote area north of Lake Mansarovar and Mount Kailash, created by Vishwakarma and sanctified by Vishnu and Shiva to be immortal and free from death.
~ Siddh Sant Vishuddh Anand described Siddhashram as an expansive, eternally pleasant place with healing waters and advanced yogic practices. Healed from an injury after visiting, he likened it to heaven, though the method to access it remains unknown.
~ Swami Sachchidanand noted that entry to Siddhashram requires rigorous spiritual preparation and initiation. Only a few have succeeded, and reaching it demands crossing a desert and mountains, with no confirmed proof of arrival.
