In this tutorial, viewers will learn how to enable shift swaps and open shifts in Roster Settings, review candidate and match lists, allocate or decline requests, and archive completed swaps so only live items appear on the dashboard. Follow along with the exact video script below.

How to enable shift swaps and open shifts.

Log into RosterElf on your computer.
Click Settings then Roster to open roster options.
Toggle Shift Swaps and Open Shifts to green so staff can swap or volunteer.

How to review shift swap and open shift requests.
From the dashboard, click the pending shift to open its details popup.
Scan the Available Candidates list to see who has already volunteered.
Check Potential Matches when no one has volunteered yet.
Pick the best-fit employee based on skills or availability.

How to allocate or decline a candidate.
Choose the employee you want in the popup.
Click Update to lock in the change and send updates instantly.
Decline a request by closing the popup and selecting the red X when needed.

How to finalise shift changes.
Watch the request slide from Pending to Archived once sorted, keeping your dashboard clear.
