7,200W of Amplification 😤 - HEDD visits

For Friedemann Tischmeyer, founder of ‪@MasteringAcademy‬, HEDD monitors are the perfect compliment to the Academy's newly upgraded, Dolby Atmos-ready studio giving him enough power and clarity to make the right decisions.

Founded in 2015, the Mastering Academy is a Hamburg-based school dedicated to helping both newcomers and professionals learn about mixing and mastering. They take a holistic approach to these complex and non-linear skills balancing theory, coaching, and hands-on training to help students learn everything from the basics to how to get that crucial last 5% of a song up to a world-class level. Friedemann leads a team of audio experts and consultants who have helped everyone from upcoming professionals to seasoned engineers like Dave Isaac, Ludger Sauer, and Kevin Lively.

HEDD visited the Mastering Academy in Hamburg earlier this year following the completion of their new Dolby Atmos-ready studio, something that Friedemann has been working towards for a decade. The small room received extensive treatment by Dennis Busch (https://www.acoustic-spaces.de/en/) to ensure it meets the necessary requirements and features HEDD's MK2 monitor range in a custom 7.1.4 setup that includes 4 BASS 12 subwoofers for a total of 7,200 Watts of amplification! It also uses the @TrinnovAudio D-Mon system for monitor control and correction, cables by Van Damme, and headphone amplification by @Lehmannaudioamplifiers.

CORRECTION:
Michael Romanowski was in charge of the mastering of the Grammy-winning Dolby Atmos production "Alicia" by Alicia Keys while George Massenburg mixed that album. Friedemann apologizes that the edit of the video does not correctly reflect this.
