Our dear friends, Patricia and Doel, learned the basics of how to make this deliciousness: how to slow cook the beef, and assemble this juicy, cheesy and decadent taco!

Birria comes from the western state of Jalisco, and it can be made from goat, lamb or beef. Our version is made from beef, which gives it its very unique mild flavor.

In El Amigo Taqueria we serve this taco with guacamole, raw onion, cilantro, and chipotle sauce. These flavors complement each other really nicely for a fuller and very rounded flavor profile: the acidity and creaminess of the guacamole, the smokiness of the chipotle, the fruitiness of the cilantro and the tender and deeply marinated slow cooked birria.

I don’t know about you amigos but my mouth just watered thinking about it!
