Calvin's 79 Triumph Spitfire single rail rebuild

Описание к видео Calvin's 79 Triumph Spitfire single rail rebuild

This short video is looking at my single rail transmission's 2nd & 3rd gear bushings, end floats and then with the gears and the main shaft installed in the box. A list of the new parts installed was added at the end. I was having issues with 1st gear popping out pulling away from a stop, and that was wear caused by the dowel pin to the 1st/2nd shift fork, couldn't push the hub far enough in, and preventing a full engagement into 1st gear. This could be seen by removing the top cover, but the fix took more that just that. My transmission has a J-type overdrive attached to it. The overdrive has a clutch, and when using gear oil in the trans, it flows into the OD too, so the gear oil must be compatible for wet clutches as well as yellow metals, and GL4 quality. I tried Royal Purple (oops, not for wet clutches) drained and refilled with another gear oil.
