Overdrive comparison BOSS SD-1 vs MXR Custom Badass Modified O.D M77 into a Marshall JTM-45

Описание к видео Overdrive comparison BOSS SD-1 vs MXR Custom Badass Modified O.D M77 into a Marshall JTM-45

This is a comparison of a BOSS SUPER OverDrive SD-1 with a MXR Custom Badass Modified O.D M77. The MXR pedal is based on the SD-1 circuit but it has more tone shaping options.

The pedals are going into the front of a Marshall JTM-45 head (channel 1) and 1936 cab.

I created a loop of music that I play two times to demonstrate the pedals on rhythm guitar and then lead while I varying the DRIVE / GAIN controls. In the first loop the MXR pedal BUMP switch is 'off' and then turned 'on' in the second loop. According to MXR 'The Bump switch engages an alternate EQ voicing that boosts the lows and mids.'

The MXR Modified O.D also has a 100hz cut and boost control that I left at 12 o'clock to keep the video short.

I used the bridge pickup on a USA Fender Stratocaster for all the rhythm guitar parts and the neck pickup for the lead. The bass parts were played on a Fender precision bass.
