✅ What's the five-second rule? If you pick up food dropped on the floor within five seconds, you can still eat that food. If it takes you longer than five seconds, you should throw the food away.
✅Is there any truth in the five second rule? Like most things, there's both truth and false information about the hygiene myth. In the video, I try to explain some basic factors that determine how contaminated the food will get.
✅Is it safe to eat food that's been dropped on the floor? No, it won't be 100% safe, so be careful especially if you're young, old, pregnant, or immunocompromised.
