The speaker distance settings often get overlooked, and can make a pretty significant difference.

Home theater 101 was started to help people new to the sickness avoid some of the pitfalls of home theater. It’s way too easy to spend a bunch of money and be unimpressed. All too often, well know brands are lackluster, while other brands develop a cult like following because of outstanding sound, yet they are relatively unknown.


If $150 per speaker sounds like an insane amount to spend, then this may not be the channel for you. If you can’t live with yourself without spending $2,000 per speaker, then I will be of no use. If you are somewhere in between, you want great sound, and don’t want to spend way too much on way too little, then subscribe and look around on this channel. I’ll try to point you in the right direction.

I currently have a Vizio, but I couldn’t recommend it fully. I’m not unhappy, but I would have gone with LG given the choice again.


I suspect HSU bookshelf speakers are worth a listen, if the subwoofer is any indication.
