Whether it is for your car, pickup, lawn mower, or chainsaw a properly gapped spark plug helps the engine run efficiently by giving the right amount of spark to burn the fuel air mixture and giving you more power. You want to set the gap on a spark plug when you are replacing them with new spark plugs. To gap a plug you will need a spark plug gap tool also known as a spark plug gauge. The one we are using is the common circle gauge or ramp type spark plug gap tool. Beside the circle gauge gapper there is also a wire spark plug gap or a feeler gauge can be used.
