At the heart of the C400 lies a full-frame, 6K back-illuminated, stacked CMOS sensor with a triple base ISO (800, 3200, and 12800). This sensor allows for cleaner images and improved dynamic range. Paul explains, "The triple base ISO really just gives you a bunch of options there for cleaning up your image and stuff like that in your dynamic range."

The back-illuminated sensor offers several advantages, including a better angle of view for the micro lenses over each diode and an expanded usable size for autofocus. "It used to be 80% coverage, now it's 100% coverage of the entire image for where we can have track focus," Paul notes. The sensor also boasts faster readout speeds, minimizing rolling shutter effects, which is particularly beneficial for LED wall or LED lighting situations.
