On Monday, the corporation unveiled a new verification marker, this time in gold.With the most recent version of Twitter Blue, the company debuted a new method on the mentioned day for corporate users to become verified with a gold check mark.

Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of Twitter, has been a vociferous opponent of Apple's app store tax. The service will cost $11 to use if a user signs up using an iOS app, and $8 per month if they sign up through the website.

It is unclear if Musk is alluding to Twitter Blue's re-launch or his well-known public disdain of phony accounts on the network when he posts a picture of himself next to a tombstone labeled "bots" on Instagram. Musk did not, as of press time, mention the launch on Twitter.

Twitter Blue, the company's pay-for-verification program that would have allowed anyone to buy blue check mark verification for $7.99 a month, was soft-launched last month by the company's new leadership, but it descended into turmoil.

Users viewed the blue check mark as a reliable method of identity verification since it has previously been utilized by celebrities, journalists, and other official accounts on the platform.

The business announced that it will now let companies sign up for Twitter Blue and get a gold checkmark. Regular users who subscribe online are marked with blue checkmarks. According to the firm, governments and other "multilateral accounts" will receive gray checkmarks.
