Josef Miler sloužil ve vojenském letectvu 35 let. Létal na na letounech L-29, L-39, MiG-21 a MiG-23. V rozhovoru vypráví o začátcích létání, výcviku, vybavení letounů, střelbách, dále o předvádění MiG-23 na leteckých dnech a o nehodách. Do detailu vypráví i o metodice letu, radionavigačním vybavení a systémech MiG-23. Rozebírá taktiku použití zbraňových systémů a zmiňuje zajímavosti ze střeleb v Astrachani a na Baltu, z hromadného vzletu letounů během cvičení Štít 84, z létání na dálnici D1 i na záložních letištích a z výcviku přepadu letounu SR-71 Blackbird.


Interview with Lt. Col. Josef Miler about flying the MiG-23.
Josef Miler served in the Air Force for 35 years. He flew the L-29 and the L-39 trainer, and later the MiG-21 and the MiG-23 fighter. In the interview, we will discuss the beginnings of his flying career, the training, aircraft equipment, live-firing, accidents, as well as the demonstration of the aircraft at airshows. He talks in detail about the flight techniques, radio navigation equipment and control systems of the MiG-23. We will also learn about combat tactics, using weapon systems and some interesting facts about the air-to-air combat training missions in Astrakhan and the Baltics. And a lot more, like how to execute amass takeoff of 72 aircraft during the Štít 84 (Shield 84) exercise, what is it like to take-off and land on a highway and how to intercept the SR-71 Blackbird.
