Описание к видео Hatching Alligator Lizard Eggs! | Southern alligator lizard reproduction

The southern Alligator Lizard (Elgaria multicarinata) is an oviparous lizard which usually breeds in the spring. They usually begin to lay their clutches in early summer. They can have between 5-20 eggs in a clutch. My southern alligator lizard is names Mrs. cuddles who had 8 eggs with two becoming slugs. It typically takes around 50 days for the eggs to start hatching if they have a consistent temperature around 80-82 degrees Fahrenheit and proper humidity. A substrate that could be used for the eggs during incubation is New Zealand sphagnum moss.
