Deor's lament is an old english poem. It is an important poem of the Anglo-Saxon period. Which was written in Exeter book at the end of 10th century.
This poem contains the lament of a poet who is thought to have been named Deor. There was no title for this poem in the Exeter book. The poem is titled later.
The poem is a lament in which a man named Deor compares the loss of his job to five great tragedies of the past.

In this poem, Deor's master has replaced him with someone else. For which the poet is sad and to show this sadness, Deor has mentioned various figures of German traditions in this poem and has compared his own problems with the problems faced by these figures.

This poem consists of 42 alliterative lines.
